I’ve Been Adopted!
Meet Menchie
Menchie came from a shelter in middle Georgia after being picked up as a stray. She was non weight bearing on her back right leg indicating she had possibly been hit by a car.
So, when I picked her up we drove directly to the vet for xrays. Menchie’s right hip was completely out of the socket. She needed surgery to repair it to put it back in place. She also had two vertebrae that have fused together, which give her a little wiggle in her walk. Her injuries could have been caused by being hit, but there’s no way to know for sure.
She also had a double ear infection and some small active ulcers in her right eye which have been treated.
She’s estimated to only be between 3-5 years old. Her poor body has obviously been made to carry many litters.
Menchie is a very sweet girl who gets along well with other dogs. We tease her that she’s a bit of a diva. She likes to lounge in bed until at least 9 AM, under the covers of course! She now gets out of bed for breakfast at 5 with the other dogs, then promptly puts herself make under the covers until a more reasonable waking hour.
She likes to spend her days laying in a sun patch on the porch or in a nest of blankets on the couch. She loves to be held like a baby or just snuggled next to you. She can’t go to sleep at night unless she gets some snuggle time tucked in by your side before making her way to the foot of the bed to sleep. Menchie is a laid back kind of lady who’s ideal forever home has time for lots of snuggles.
Menchie is house trained, crate trained (although she doesn’t need one), spayed, and up to date on vaccines.
She has a great personality! She will fuss at you if you’re gone to long by barking and racing around you like a mad woman while doing a very funny butt wiggle/bounce.
