I’ve Been Adopted!

Meet Audrey

Audrey is a 3 year old, 24 lbs Boston Terrier female available for adoption.

Audrey arrived with a very obvious skin condition. Her initial vet exam also revealed heart worms! Audrey has since been treated for the fleas that caused her skin to be raw & hairless. Her hair has grown back beautifully. As of November she is now heart worm free! She’s also been vaccinated, spayed, and micro-chipped.

Our time with Audrey as a foster since August has revealed some behaviors we needed to work on. We have been addressing these with the input of our trainer.

Audrey has separation anxiety and needs someone who is home most of the time, someone who works from home, is retired, or works part time would be ideal. She is ok left for a few hours a day in her crate or loose if there are no other pets, but gets anxious if she’s left for prolonged periods several days in a row.  We usually crate Audrey when we leave home with a stuffed Kong to keep her occupied while she is alone. Due to her anxiety we prefer a home with no children or older children (12 & up) for Audrey to be most comfortable.

Audrey can be dog selective and when she is anxious she can lash out. Audrey lives peacefully here with many other dogs, and plays well with most of them, but we are always aware of her signals so we can redirect her or remove her from the group if she’s getting too riled up. We think Audrey would do best as an only dog or with another laid back dog. A condition of Audrey’s adoption will require a meet and greet with every member of the family, including pets. Audrey is not good with cats, so a feline free home is required.

Audrey also has some really great traits! She is incredibly affectionate. Audrey loves to be held and snuggled. She would be happy to sit in your lap for hours at a time. She’s funny and playful and enjoys playing with toys. She loves toys that squeak. Audrey loves belly rubs and likes to be held like a baby while you rub her tummy. She’s not destructive and can be left loose in the house while you run errands without worrying about what she might chew up. Audrey walks well on a leash and is a great car rider.
