Meet Bessie Valentine

Bessie is a 1-2 year old sweet & silly “splash” Boston Terrier mix. Bessie is very submissive with people and anxious to please her family. Bessie has worked with a trainer on her leash walking skills and on gaining confidence. Bessie would like a family that will continue to work with her on her training.

Bessie is learning to socialize with dogs, but was not well socialized as a puppy, so her interactions are closely monitored. We think Bessie can learn to be around other dogs, but for now would like a one dog family where she can be the baby and the focus of attention.

Bessie arrived heart worm positive, but has since been treated for heart worms and now is negative. She is fully vaccinated and spayed. Bessie’s adoption fee will be $225.00.

Heart worms are 100% preventable with monthly preventative. Heart worms are a very painful condition that can cause death and the treatment for a positive dog is a very long and painful process. It is also a very expensive treatment at around $300-500 per dog and requires a vigilant foster home as the dog must remain on crate rest for a minimum of 6 weeks. Please keep your pet up to date on heart worm preventative.
