Bonsai arrived in January of 2016 about 9 years old, thin, tired, filled with intestinal parasites, and with several large tumors on his body including a very large one on his foot.
Again we headed over to Main Street Vet. Blood work was pretty normal, parasites are an easy fix, and we can feed him and let him rest.
We were hopeful that the tumor on his foot was just a fatty tumor. However, now that the results are back, we know it’s a grade 1 mass cell tumor. Because of it’s size and location they were not able to get good margins (which is approximately 2 cm around the tumor). The tumor is wrapped around the tendons of his foot making clean margins impossible.
Bonsai is a Forever Foster in our Senior Sweethearts Program which places senior dogs into permanent foster placements. This program allows the dogs to live with a family being loved as their very own, while the Rescue Ranch continues to cover all medical costs for the life of the dog. Only through donations & sponsorship are we able to help these senior & medically needy dogs.
We would like to make a donation to sponsor a dog in the memory of my daughter’s Boston Terrier, Georgia, who just passed. Please let me know if Bonsai or any of the other Boston’s need sponsorship.
