Burt is around 8 years old and lived the majority of his life outside on a farm. He is currently living large and being spoiled by one of the amazing Rescue Ranch foster families, but is waiting for his forever family.
Burt’s has a couple foster siblings – another dog and a cat and does very well with both of them. Burt’s foster mom reports, “All the animals act like he’s lived here his whole life. He’s quiet as a mouse and doesn’t appear to have a mean bone in his body. Not a single grumble or growl so far.”
Burt has a substantial perianal hernia. However, the vets are NOT recommending any surgery. It’s not painful, is reduce-able, and is not impacting his ability to defecate normally. Other than cosmetic improvement there’s not much reason do it. It’s not impacting his life at all, its just funny to look at.
Even though Burt has lived the life of an outside dog, he is doing great in his foster home. He is learning to potty outside and has even started to stand by door when he wanted out. He is such a sweet boy.

Bert did not show up on the adoption application? We lost out beloved Boston Harley suddenly. He was 10 years old.
Burt is precious. I am an older bedridden lady with a caregiver that tends to me and 1 cat that I have had many years, He is old now but doesnt mind company. I am looking to pfind 2 dogs, so they can play together. I have a doggie door that has been in this house for 6 or 7 years now. Lived here almost 9 years and do not intend to move good LORD willing. I am sincere about finding 2. Preferably a male an female, both fixed and shots up to date. Please let me know if you have 2 and also how soon they would be available. Also what are my requirements to adopt the little darlin’s ! I get so excited when I think of snuggle babies that would sleep with me and I could watch them play. They would ofcourse be spoiled rotten with toys, good food, regular doctor appointments and more love than they could handle.
God Bless you all for what you do. I sure wish I was able to do the same but I have room for 2 new babies in my life to love and spoil.
Heo is beautiful i would love to adopt him…
We are seniors who lost our beloved boston about 2 years ago. What a difficult process to feel ready to love another. We feel ready but not sure about getting a puppy and are considering an adult. One consideration is we live in alaska.
Can you tell me where Burt is located? We have had Bostons some years back. Our last one was with us for 16 years. We went with English Bull dogs for a lot of years. We are 78 years old and want one that is old also. I have not set up for someone to care for a dog should we pass. April 26 will be a year since we have had a companion. We really long for a dog to share our life. We have family near by but feel we can still share our lives with an older dog. I would appreciate any input that you can provide.
Thank you
Carole Hendl
