Meet Haddie Mae
Haddie Mae was having some potty troubles in her home, so the very first thing we did when Haddie arrived to the Ranch was head over to see Dr. Esther. After reviewing Haddie’s blood work and preforming an ultra sound and xrays, it was determined Haddie has a “flaccid bladder”. Basically, years of being a money producing mom left her with an “old lady bladder” so she has weak muscles and can’t hold it very long. The vet prescribed Proin for Haddie Mae to help. It’s changed her life! Haddie Mae still needs to potty every 3-4 hours, but she’s not “leaking” and doesn’t feel like she has to go every 5 minutes anymore. It’s an easy flavored tablet that she takes twice a day.
The not great news revealed by the x-ray, Haddie Mae has Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). Haddie Mae is on heart medication to manage the CHF and is doing very well. Due to her CHF diagnosis, Haddie Mae is a hospice dog who will live out the remainder of her life in the care of the Rescue, but she has a GREAT Forever Foster who loves to spoil her.
Haddie Mae is heart worm negative, and up to date on vaccines. She has some separation anxiety so she doesn’t want to be left alone for more than a few hours at a time and prefers to spend her time with her family. Haddie Mae is between 7-9 years old (revised after her bladder diagnosis).
